1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. We also use related browser storage (local storage and cache) to keep the map app working offline. Below we use “cookies” to cover all of these.

2. Cookies we use

• Essential – keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as units and default map view) and secure the service. The service will not work properly without these, so they are always on.
• Offline map storage – the map app stores tiles and route data on your device so it keeps working without signal. This lives in your browser and is never sent to us.
• Analytics – where enabled, we use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages and features are used, so we can improve them. These are only set with your consent.

3. Third parties

Some cookies may be set by services we rely on to run the site – for example our hosting and content delivery provider, and analytics. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

4. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and may break parts of the service. Clearing storage in the map app will remove any downloaded offline maps.
